Kaylan's 5k Warrior Run and Kaylan Strong's Fight Like A Warrior Foundation is named after Kaylan "Momi Girl" Haywood who was 11 when she was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a terminal form of brain cancer.
She died just 6 months later on August 22, 2018. Kaylan's 5k Warrior Run is the first of its kind here in the Hawaii community for Brain Tumor Awareness Month, which is in May. It’s the first 5k dedicated exclusively to pediatric brain cancer awareness and research in our community.
We are here to help Ohanas affected by DIPG and Childhood Brain Cancer. This is our 1st Annual Kaylan's 5K Warrior Run. Because of Covid, we had to make this race a virtual run. Please post pictures to our Facebook page Kaylan Strong's Fight Like A Warrior Foundation.
