Virtual runners, get ready – our September race is here and you are going to love heading to Runderland with your local running friends and runners from all over the country. When you sign up to participate for this great Gone For A Run virtual race, you’ll not only be running in a great 5-miler, but you’ll receive an amazing race packet featuring a sparkly race medal, your choice of a bright green tank top or a blue T-Shirt, and an authentic race bib – everything you need to participate in the race, delivered right to your doorstep. Register for the race here.

Runderland Race PacketAs always, we – and you – don’t need any rules. Choose your race date between September 29th and October 3rd, then run or walk the 5 miles anywhere you like! Don’t be late for (or miss out on) this important race – registrations are limited and selling out quickly.

Did I mention how gorgeous this medal is? With quotes from one of the most popular books and novelist of all time decorating the medal ribbon  (the perfect combination of lime green and blue) and gemstones inset on the face of the clock, you will definitely want to add this to your collection.

Are you feeling a little cautious because you have never ran a virtual race before? .  As the Cheshire Cat said, “Every adventure requires a first step.” Maybe you’re reading this blog because this is your time to take it that first step. As Alice said, “at any rate, there’s no harm in trying.” Before you know it, you’ll be running in our virtual races every month – as many runners who are part of our unique community do.

A portion of your race registration fee will help support a charity that does great work all over the country – Milk+Bookies. This incredible charity does two things – first, it encourages literacy and helps instill a lifelong love of reading in underserved communities where access to books is limited, and second, it provides the tools and resources for children to host “book-raisers” where they collect and donate books for those who need and want these books.

When you’re done with your race, be sure to tell us of your adventures and share your stories, race photos, and PRs on our Facebook page. (Alternately, you can mail them to blog@chalktalksports.com).  While we love creating (and running) these virtual races, nothing is more rewarding than reading the tales, and seeing the photos of the beautiful Gone For a Run community after successfully completing their races.

Good luck, happy running, and remember:

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where–” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
“–so long as I get SOMEWHERE,” Alice added as an explanation.
“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”
