Safe Harbor Support Center is a small nonprofit in the Tri-Cities, WA. Our mission is to help children and families heal from abuse and neglect. We provide evidence-based intervention and education to help children with a history of trauma or extreme and challenging behaviors. Children develop resilience and healthy coping skills through our programs, while we work with their families to ensure parents have the skills necessary for them to have healthy and loving homes. Our agency also helps combat the effects of poverty on children by providing necessary items for families in need including hygiene items, diapers and wipes, clothing, and food assistance. Our flagship program, My Friend’s Place is the only overnight shelter for homeless teens in the southeastern area of Washington. All proceeds from the race will help us continue our work to help the most vulnerable members of our community.
