RUN WITH US BLOG

Come, run along with us as we share our joy of everything running.

This past weekend we held our 3rd virtual race, the Dad's Footsteps 5k. This virtual race gave runners the opportunity to celebrate Father's Day weekend, running with or for their fathers. Throughout the weekend we received amazing race recaps of families honoring their dads on courses around the globe.

Countless numbers of runners shared posts of completing their race with their dads who were in different states and countries, showing us that this race brought families who couldn't be together this Father's Day weekend, "together."

On day 2 of the virtual race, the Westby's, a military family, shared with us their experience of completing the race which touched the hearts of us at Gone For a Run.  Father, Eric Westby, is currently over seas in Afghanistan serving our for our country. He sent us a message with his race photos telling us that he ran his Dad's Footsteps 5k in Afghanistan "with" his wife and children. The Westby family told us that this race provided them with the opportunity to do something together, even though they were apart.

Thank you so much Eric Westby and all those who are serving our country! You are truly an inspiration to us all!
